Carving careers within the hospitality industry.

Paving the way for successful careers in the Southwest.

We love to showcase not just how important hospitality jobs are, but also how rewarding and enjoyable they are due to the dynamic and fast-paced environment. Within our hotels and spas, each department thrives through a supportive training and management team who are always on hand to champion new recruits and help guide them to achieve their goals within the industry.

A busy month for new recruits and training as we highlight our happenings during May.

Mill ford school – Special Education In conjunction with Heart of the South West Careers Hub, the Boringdon Hall Hotel & Spa team have been supporting the school with various projects. One of these projects is offering valuable work experience for students, this was the first opportunity for these students to experience a working environment. We had 3 students join us, working in Gaia Spa, housekeeping and the grounds with one student Haydn now joining us on an 8-week placement throughout August and September… A success story!

Truro and Penwith College We spent an afternoon with level 2 and 3 beauty students discussing the benefits of having a career in Beauty Therapy and working for Philema Hospitality Management along with the students participating in a GAIA Bespoke Massage with one of GAIA’s expert therapists. These students are the future of our spa industry and we want to support keeping their passion alive.

Careers Hub Cornwall and Isles of Scilly We have been working closely with the careers hub to support with their initiatives, one of them being a day spent at the wonderful Royal Cornwall Showground. This was attended by various industries with interactive stalls for the students to engage with and enjoy, who doesn’t like decorating and then eating a macaroon baked by our fabulous Pastry Chef John.
